L4 Offroad Gear Manufacturers Challenge Series

The manufacturers challenge has a gained a major sponsor.  The event will now be called L4 Offroad Gear Manufacturer Challenge. 

L4 Offroad Gear is new to the market and aims to provide a range of apparel that stands out for any occassion, specifically for the 4x4 offroad driver.  Click on the logo above to visit their website.  The winner of each class will win something from the L4 new range of apparel.

The challenge see's the top 3 cars in each of the 4 classes compete in the end of year challenge against the other manufactures cars. The last challenge will be a teams event. The outlaw and extreme cars can run non-manufacturer running gear and can have a modified chasis. We want to see the manufacturer badge.

  • 27 March - Suzuki 4WDs

  • 25 September - Landrover/Mitsubishi 4WDs
  • 13 November - Final series

Competitor entry fee $50.00 plus camping fees

  • Street Modified
  • Extreme Modified
  • Outlaw/Buggy

Teams

Class specifications

STOCK STANDARD CLASS

  • Maximum 2” Lift – 10 point penalty for every inch above
  • 31" Tyres Maximum 5 point deduction for 32’s on each track and 10 point deduction for 33’s on each track
  • Must be registered
  • Any car can compete in this class if the driver doesn’t feel comfortable driving in the next class. Brenden will decide on the penalties and if the car is substansially modified the driver may not be eligible for the prize.
  • No Lockers. If the car comes standard with an LSD good luck and have fun driving after all it’s a stock class if the factory was smart enough to build it that when then you were smart enough to buy it
  • If you win more than twice you get a trophy and can win overall but the prizes will go to the next place getter. End of series prize is the car with the most series points.

STREET MODIFIED CLASS

  • Maximum 4 inch lift (including body lifts)
  • Maximum 33 inch tyres
  • If you run 34’s you get a 5 point deduction on each track. If you run 35’s you get a 10 point deduction on each track.
  • 1 locker or LSD. We don’t care if the traction aid is front or back but you must have one diff open
  • Must be registered
  • Engines – bigger the better
  • If you win more than twice you get a trophy and can win overall but the prizes will go to the next place getter. End of series prize is the car with the most series points.

EXTREME MODIFIED CLASS

  • As high as you like.
  • Maximum 37 inch tyres if your worries about the inch to 35’s buy some 37’s. If the inch realy does make a difference wait for the car to win twice and you’ll get the prize for coming second.
  • Any traction aids.
  • Roll cages not essential but roll over protection advised. If you don’t have cages don’t worry you just won’t be able to drive some of the bonus lines.
  • Drivers Window up or nets. If Navi is in the car passanger window must be up or net
  • Must be registered not QDT road worthy. Cars that aren’t road worthy must be towed into the park.
  • If you win more than twice you get a trophy and can win overall but the prizes will go to the next. place getter. End of series prize is the car with the most series points.

OUTLAW CLASS

  • Any sized tyres
  • Must have harnesses, window nets and helmets and roll cage, internal or external. 11evl cling rap doesn’t count as a roof.
  • No.s must be checked by someone who knows what they are looking for. Brett, Rhett, Michael, DGR boys.
  • Rear steer is fine because if someone turns up with rear stear we’ll take the stop, reverse penalties away.

BUGGIES / TRUGGIES

  • Must look good.
  • Rules speak to Damien at Yuri. I don’t have a clue. If you want to build one speak to Damien at Yuri.
  • Kill switch mounted within reach of driver and appropriately marked.
  • Must have harnesses, window nets and helmets and roll cage, internal or external.

We will be having a more competitive comp start after Tuff Truck if we get enough marshalls. This event will need one person who will have overall control. That one person will discuss the final outcome of the event with the scenic rim park director for park liability reasons.

Saturday - approximate format, times do vary depending on challenge completions

  • 8.00am Camp Breakfast BYO
  • 9.00am Challenger Briefing
  • 9.30am Challenge 1
  • 10.30am Challenge 2
  • 12.30pm Lunch
  • 1.30pm Challenge 3
  • 2.30pm Challenge 4
  • 5.00pm End of events

COST

The driver and navigator from each team entered into the challenge driving cost for the vehicles in the challenge will be $50 for the weekend plus camping fees.

Standard park fees apply to everyone else driving and camping.

  • 4WD day trip only $35 per vehicle
  • Camping fees $7 per adult per night (16 years and above) $4 per child (15 years and under) per night, under 5 years free.

For spectators who want to only watch for the day. There will be spectator parking vehicles are note allowed in the park and the cost will be:

  • $5.00 per adult (16 years and above)
  • Free (15 years and under)

Spectators wanting to drive their vehicle in the park with pay $35 vehicle fee.
