August update

We continue to have people build their own campfires on the grassed camping areas.

Unless your campfire is set on an established campfire spot please remove all rubbish, ash and rocks you may have used and level out the area you used for your fire

We encourage campfires to be set on the uneven ground not in the middle of a level site which is ideal for sleeping tents

New campfire Circles

We have been working extremely hard to increase the grassed areas for camping throughout the park.

We are now setting up campfire circles on campsites and request people do not change these campfire areas or add new ones.

This may mean people will need to share a campfire as the campfires will not be located on the level areas of the campsites. If you do not wish to share a cooking fire you will have to supply an alternative gas to cook your food

Remember sitting round a campfire is a great place to meet and make new friends.

Wood for fires

We suggest you bring in your own wood for your fires

The park has been open for almost two years and most of the dead wood around the campsites has been collected.

Please remember to put out fires before leaving your site

Camp cooking fires

The positioning for our campsites is for driving safety not necessarily fire safety.

Wind gushes blow up unexpectedly in the valley as much as along the ridgeline.

We request all campers keep their fires small and in an enclosed area at all times

No fire is to be left unattended whilst you go driving throughout the park

All fires must be burnt out before campers retire for the night.

Fires are to be completely out and not left smouldering once you vacate your campsite.

No fires are to be lit under any circumstance if there is a fire ban.
