6^th Series of the Suspension Stuff 4WD Challenge well attended and final series winners were determined.

On Saturday 10 December Scenic Rim Adventure Park hosted the 6^th and final series of Suspension Stuff 4WD Challenge for 2011. 

It was a great turn out with 13 competitors representing all four classes in the competition even though the morning started out stormy and damp.  The day continued to threaten bad weather however the tracks were safe and suitable for all to continue to compete.

Thanks again to Suspension Stuff major sponsor for this event.  Each first place winner won $150 Suspension Stuff Gift Voucher and runners up stubby coolers for the day outcome and other overall series winners won, trophies, $150 voucher and Compressor.  Runners up also won trophies, $150 voucher and an Exhaust Jet and third place winners were awarded trophies.

It was a great 2011 series and Suspension Stuff with Scenic Rim Adventure Park will be running a new series in 2012.  The dates are:

5^th Series of the Suspension Stuff 4WD Challenge

On Saturday 15 October Scenic Rim Adventure Park hosted the 5^th series of Suspension Stuff 4WD Challenge for 2011.

It was a great turn out with 17 competitors representing three of the classes in the competition even though the morning started out stormy and damp.  The day shaped up to be great weather and the tracks ended up with a mix of muddy terrain, adding a complexity for the navigate to manoeuvre successfully through the tracks.

All classes got to complete at least two tracks before the second storm hit hard in the late afternoon, sending everyone out of the park in a long convoy.

Congratulations to the winners:

• Jason Roberts, Suzuki Sierra on 216.4 points in the Modified Class
• Evan Baldock, Toyota Hilux on 144 points in the Street Extreme Class
• Bruce Fraser, Nissan Patrol on 147 points in the Extreme Modified Class

Land Rover’s take out title of supreme 4WD at 2011 Manufacturers Fun Carna

On Saturday the 30 July 2011, Scenic Rim Adventure Park held this year’s Massojet Manufacturers Fun Carna 4WD event.

Five teams participated in the event, with manufacturers represented from Land Rover, Nissan, Toyota, Suzuki and Ford.

Teams started with a 10 meter crack run, requiring one vehicle to complete the distances with two wheels in the crack and the other two out, other cars were able to assist by dragging them through if needed. Most were able to get through with the assistance of their team members, however a few did get stuck requiring recovery.

Then teams completed a dead car pull through a large mud pit, with one team member getting their vehicle closest to the pin without knocking the tennis ball off.

A race up some hilly terrain and down steep decent teams lapped up as many as possible in a 15 minute time period.

It was then time to tackle the Massojet race around the park. With a set of clues for each driver, maps in hand, they took off to find 9 pieces of a puzzle, which they needed to, win this challenge. Spectators, family and friends all got involved with this one, helping work out the clues and destinations of the puzzle pieces.

After all that excitement, it was time to see which manufacturer was the smoothest ride with a 4WD egg and spoon race, a lot of fun and a lot of mess.

To finish the day the 4WDs took to penalty shoot outs, with a meter large ball on a tee, they backed up and then drove in fast to score the most points for their team.

It was a great day for competitors and spectators. Massojet provided prizes for all competitors. A variety of their water and air jets that attach to either a hose or compressor, become an invaluable device for any four wheel drive.

But congratulations must go to this year’s Massojet Manufacturers Fun Carna winners, the Land Rover – you reign supreme!
